.Install the DVR. Connect the DVR directly to a router.
.If you are planning on viewing remotely, be sure that the router is connected to the Internet.
.Login to the menu of the DVR by going to [MENU]>[LOGIN}. The default username and password is "aa" and "11". Highlight [LOGIN] and press the [ENTER] button.
.After [LOGIN] is complete, from the main menu go to [SETUP] and then [NETWORK].
.Change the Net Type to [DHCP] using the +/- buttons and press the [MENU] button to exit. Save when prompted using the [ENTER] button. The DVR will now detect an IP address from the router. Make a note of the IP address.
.On a local network, open Internet Explorer and type in the IP address detected by the DVR. Install the Active X plugins as prompted. Enter the username and password when prompted.
.If camera view comes up, local view is now setup.
.To setup remote view you will need to forward the Control, Data, and HTTP ports (67, 68, 80) to the IP address of your DVR. Consult www.portforward.com for specific directions for your router. This is an essential step. Remote view will not work if port forwarding is not configured correctly.
.If you are running a software firewall you may need to make sure that Control, Data, and HTTP ports are open in the firewall as well. Consult your firewall documentation for directions on how to do this.
